QuestionI'm having trouble getting started using Power Text to Speech Reader. Is there a tutorial?

Here are some steps that can help explain how our text reader software interacts with the Windows clipboard and how to get started:

1. Open Power Text to Speech Reader and click Option button on toolbar.

2. Choose Clipboard tab and  make sure "Watch clipboard" and "Prompt to copy from clipboard" are checked.

3. Minimize Power Text to Speech Reader or close it to the system tray (just click on the "x" to close the Window) and then switch to your email program (or whatever).

4. Use your mouse to highlight some text and hit Ctrl-C. That brings up the Power Text to Speech Reader clipboard prompt, then just click "New" and it will create an article in Power Text to Speech Reader. Now click on one of the Speak buttons and listen to the text read aloud.

QuestionIs there any way to not use the Clipboard and get rid of the annoying popup when I copy something to the Clipboard?

Under Options->Clipboard, there are several choices related to how Power Text to Speech Reader monitors the clipboard. So, by changing those settings, you can avoid the popup asking what you'd like to do with the text by setting a default. You can also turn off clipboard watching temporarily by right-clicking the Power Text to Speech Reader system tray icon and using the options menu items on the popup menu.

QuestionHow do I get more Voices?

The demo of our text reader software ships with only a Truvoice(America English). There may be other voices on your computer already that will also work. You can download other older free voices by clicking here.

After installing a new voice, you may need to reboot (restart windows) for them to be available within Power Text to Speech Reader.

We also offer premium voices from a wide variety of voice vendors in many different languages and personalities. You can hear samples of these by clicking here.

QuestionWhy aren't the good voices available in the demo?

Because of legal restrictions and the file size of the voices, we could not  include them in the download version of Power Text to Speech Reader. You must purchase to use to get the better voices.  You will find sample audio files created with the voices at here .
